Why is it so hard to find a reliable laptop nowadays?

I gave up on my old Hewlett-Packard laptop because it failed four times within just fifteen months. The last bit of repair took about seven weeks to complete, which was totally unacceptable.

Now my new Toshiba laptop is acting funny. After about four months of use, the hard drive failed catastrophically. Now, after another two months, it's refusing to charge up again. It looks like the power adapter has failed on me. Nuts.

I can't stand this.
