Microsoft Windows stinks

It's been a while since I've ranted about how horrible the Windows operating system is. Of course, Vista takes the cake, being the abysmal failure that it is. In general though, Windows just isn't very good.

XP was perhaps their best OS, but even then, it was often infuriating.

And infuriating is the right word. That's the word to use when complaining about how it takes Vista several minutes to boot up, or nearly a minute just to open up Windows Explorer. Why? Because they insist on adding so many operations in the background that are of questionable utility at best. If the OS had been designed well from the start, these should not be necessary.

Here's a tip, Microsoft. It doesn't take much effort to read the directory tree from a disk. Because you insist on adding so many 'kewl' bells and whistles though, it all becomes completely infuriating for those of us who just want to get work done.
