Dance etiquette

This little story is very frustrating. I'd like to say that it's unbelievable, but it really isn't. There are way too many people who act in the manner described therein.

Good grief. How much common sense does it take to figure out that if a guy asks you to dance, you should say yes -- that is, unless you have really good reason to turn him down. Saying that he's a bad dancer or that you just don't like his style isn't good enough. In fact, it's downright rude.

I guess some people just don't understand proper etiquette. It's amazing. Dance etiquette is mostly just a matter of common sense and a little bit of sensitivity -- the sort of thing that people need to learn as children. Sheesh.

When a woman asks me to dance, I almost always say yes. I do that even when the woman is really, really bad. Why? Because that's the decent, respectful thing to do. Three minutes of lackluster dancing isn't going to ruin my life, after all.

I guess this story gets to me because I've known some people like that. A lot of people are very much self-absorbed nowadays, and it's disappointing.
