Some dancers I met

I met some interesting people at a dance event tonight. I want to make a special effort to remember their names, so here I am, recording them.

Suzanne came up to me and asked me to dance. She said that she saw me and was hoping that I'd ask her to dance. I had honestly been planning to, but I was just waiting for another song. She was really friendly and a darned good follower. (Her husband, unfortunately, refused to come to this event.)

Her sister was named Stephanie. Stephanie, by her own admission, did not have the same sense of rhythm. Frankly though, I didn't care. She was nice and she made an effort. I always want these newcomers to know that they can feel at ease, even if they don't dance well. And honestly, with a little practice, I think she can do quite well indeed.

Becca was a darned good follower. She was able to follow some unusual moves that I pulled on her, and that she had never seen before. I always get a thrill when that happens.

Becca's friend was named Chelsea. She needs work, but after all, she had only tried swing dancing once before, and that was last year. Once again, I tried to make sure that she felt appreciated and at ease.

This gal Jean asked me to dance as well. She hasn't been doing this for very long --- only three months or so -- but she could follow pretty well. Not flawlessly, but surprisingly well.

Then there's Christie. A pretty young student gal. She's also relatively new, so I tried to make her feel at ease. Oh, and I complimented her on her fabulous layered hairstyle. I think she was pleasantly surprised to hear me say that.
