Some people are idiots when it comes to writing video scripts

Back in my grad school days, our lab team had to produce a video to document our work. I was tasked with preparing the script, and the grad students on our team were asked to contribute sections of text that described their work.

Two of these guys took the easy way out, though. Instead of preparing a section of a script, they simply submitted a copy of the report that we had previously prepared for our corporate sponsor. That was a completely idiotic move. Obviously, a written report will do nothing to describe the kind of action that should accompany the voiceover. Heck, it doesn't even make for good voiceover material, since formal reports are written in a vastly different style from video presentations.

As often happened, I had to clean up their mess. Why? Because while they were hard-working in certain aspects of their work, they also had a way of taking shortcuts when convenient. Convenient for themselves, that is. Not for the people they had to work with.
