Marathons, not sprinting 

The success of any company relies on being a marathoner, not a sprinter. Oh, there may be times when shortcuts are necessary; however, companies should generally plan for their long-term success rather than mere short-term gains. This is certainly true in software development, where this lesson is all-too-frequenlty ignored.
