The incredibly idiocy of Windows Vista

I can't stand it. I just can't stand it. Windows Vista has this incredibly annoying habit of freezing up for no apparent reason -- even when it's not running a lot of programs, and even when these programs are nothing exceptional. I'm talking about idiotically fundamental programs such as Internet Explorer and Microsoft Outlook.

I hate this.

So I try switching from one windows to another, and what do I get? NO RESPONSE. I wind up walking away to get a drink, and then hoping that the window context has switched by the time I get back. And why does this happen? Doubtlessly because Vista is doing all sorts of fluffy, unnecessary stuff in the background -- the kind of stuff that some geeky programmer decided would be "kewl."

Hey, here's a clue, Microsoft! Think about how these gee-whiz-bang features will impact basic performance before you decide that it's a kewl thing to do.
