The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan

I caught a few episodes of that old 70s cartoon, "The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan" on Boomerang recently. That brought back memories.

This cartoon was certainly different. Oh, it had the usual childish humor and cheesy Hanna-Barbera production values. However, it featured an Asian hero and his Asian family, which was unusual. What's more, none of the characters behaved in a stereotypical way. They were of Chinese descent and were drawn as suchg; however, there were no exaggerated accents or other stereotypical mannerisms.

Unfortunately, the clan was too large. Most of the characters never developed much of a personality of their own, and I'm sure that very few children could keep track of who was who.
