Window switching can be so incredibly annoying

Do you know what one of the most annoying thing about Windows (the various versions) is? It's how Windows often responds so sluggishly when you attempt to switch between different applications.

You have probably seen this happen. You click on an application window and find that the OS fails to switch to it. You click on it again, and again, and again, and it just doesn't happen. After a minute or so, it might finally switch, but in the meantime, it's just aggravating.

Of course, I realize that the OS may have more imperative things to do than to respond to a user's mouse clicks. Still, this problem ultimately occurs because of the massive bloatware that's inherent to Windows. That's what happens when you don't design things correctly right from the start.
