Roses and memories

I remember wanting to give a female friend a bunch of blue roses a while back. It was her birthday, and she didn't get flowers very often. The appeal faded when I discovered that these roses aren't naturally blue; rather, they are dyed. Nuts.

Speaking of which, I remember the sadness I felt when I saw that a major florist shop in my neighborhood closed down. I never used their services; however, I did feel saddened that a major landmark like theirs closed their doors after decades of service. In the meantime, this rinky-dink floral shop on Coventry Road remains fixtured there, despite their very disappointing selection. I just don't get it.

I love to give flowers, and I love seeing a woman's eyes light up upon receiving them -- especially if she's not the type who often gets flowers. I love to get a bouquet of 24 roses from Costco, as they offer great bargains. This assumes that you can get the flowers while they're still fairly fresh, mind you.
